Rufus and Molly Gave Us Five New Border Collie Puppies On February 23, 2010.
Four are tricolor and one is black and white. Three are girls and two are boys. One of the girls is the black and white. You figure out the rest...(grin).
Our puppies have a wonderful mommy and daddy. Molly is the mommy and is a registered Border Collie. She is a tri-color, which means that in addition to the typical black and white, she also has copper highlights. Rufus is not registered, but he is a handsome guy who is beautiful and sweet and loves to do his fun tricks for people. Where Molly is a typical, "hyper" Border Collie, Rufus is more calm, so his children, even though they will do all the things that Border Collies do, like herding cattle and ducks or learning impressive tricks, also make excellent family pets in the house.
This is Rufus and Molly's sixth family - thirty-eight puppies all together. Some of their puppies are working cattle, doing therapy, and one even helps her owner hunt grouse in Minnesota. The rest are wonderful house pets. We wish we could keep them all, but we already have five of their puppies from other litters, which makes seven dogs - quite a houseful, but we wouldn't trade them for the world.
We just picked out stuffed animals for each of this litter so they will have a touch of familiar smells when they go to their new homes. We also worm them at four and six weeks, get their first round of vaccinations and vet exam. Each puppy gets a very nice, hardback Border Collie book, a brochure of handy tips, a collar, photo birth certificate, shot record, a container of premium puppy chow and a "Lifetime Puppy Back Guarantee" that includes a pro-rated refund for the first five weeks.
The puppies are raised in our kitchen, which we convert into the puppy nursery for eight weeks. This gives them nearly constant contact with us, which includes hours of sitting on the floor with laps full of love. Our "center work island" is their "crate" and they love to sleep in it, coming out to do their "business" on newspapers. They are getting used to the papers and are keeping their crate progressively cleaner every day. This gives them a good start toward housebreaking and they are on their way to being crate trained when they go to their new homes.
We will also take care of your dog for a small fee for vacations, etc., as long as both of our schedules coincide. They must be housebroken, however, and up to date with shots, heartworm and flea treatment.
Saving the best for last is the price: $300.00. We think you will agree with the other families who have taken one of our puppies that the price is more than a bargain.
